Anett

Anett is a contemporary soul singer-songwriter hailing from the beautifully miniature Estonia in Northern Europe. She has recently been awarded Best Female Artist and Best Pop Artist at Estonian Music Awards 2021 and has more than a decade worth experience as a jazz vocalist. She has already received praise from many international artists such as Kimbra and performed on the same line-up as Erykah Badu for the virtual event of The Global Hack 2020.

Anett self-released her debut album “Morning After” in November 2020. The 10-track piece released also on vinyl – which first press sold out in five months – channels Anett’s personal thoughts and airy songwriting flair through contemporary soul soundscapes and R&B beats. The album gained her three nominations at 2021 Estonian Music Awards – Album Of the Year, Best Female Artist and Best Pop Artist. The latter two she took home on the night of the gala.

Anett resides in a seaside small town Võsu which played a significant role in writing and completing the album in lockdown, in complete contrast to New York where half of her album was written and recorded with the composer-producer Ms Madli.

In early 2020 Anett was the super finalist at the Eurovision Estonian preselection Eesti Laul 2020. The single “Write About Me” that she wrote and performed together with producer-guitarist Fredi, won the international jury vote and received praise from the noted singer-songwriter Kimbra. The track entered the Estonian Spotify Top 50 chart, as the 6th most played track the same month and has over 200 000 streams on Spotify to date.

Anett’s double single “get by”, co-written with Joshua Stephenz and produced by Red Bull Music Academy alumni Sander Mölder, was released under TIKS Rekords in April 2020, reaching #2 spot on Estonian National Radio 2 top 40. Later in April she performed at The Global Hack virtual concert event alongside Erykah Badu. In October the same year, Anett held a sold out show at the biggest jazz festival in the Baltics – ‘Jazzkaar’.

While staying true to her rather personal approach to songwriting, she has managed to cross over to popular music, winning the hearts and minds of both music lovers and critics.
